237 Reasons to read AOC2: Day 8, Quote 60 - Drew McLellan

“And then there were other business owners who also had absolutely no marketing background, no marketing counsel and no marketing plan. By all accounts their businesses should have folded like a cheap suit too. Instead they flourished.”
Drew’s central premise in a chapter entitled ‘Accidental Marketers: Deaf, Blind But Not So Dumb‘ is that even those who have no formal training in ‘marketing’ can be highly successful marketers if they lose their senses, and don’t hear, see or speak. By this, Drew means they don’t hear people giving them “can’t miss” opportunities, they don’t see what competitors are doing and slavishly copy or react, and they did not speak or brag about how fantastic their company was - they just focused on making sure it delivered its promises to its customers.
