This is the third part in an ongoing series where we look at the music industry and try to apply making money blogging methods and ideas to making a small niche support you. In part one I introduced you to the London Goth scene and some of the musical talent that fills it. In part two we looked at some of the big names and how vital personal brand equity was. I also shared some ideas about how to build a powerful brand equity that would sell venue tickets and CDs quicker than ever.

Did you knew that there are websites out there almost as powerful as Google in driving traffic to your website? I’m talking about social media websites like Facebook and MySpace that can drive immense traffic to your website, more than Google can ever do. What strikes me is that not many people take advantage of Social Media and don’t strengthen their brand there as they do by SEO/SEM and other optimizations techniques meant to drive traffic from Big G.

I love my elective classes here at Harvard Business School . I think that each one is uniquely positioning me to take over the world in a different way. We use a very complicated ranking system that turns course selection into a big, somewhat messy lottery. However, having attended Harvard Kennedy School (where we use a different, but equally complicated system), I knew how important it was to rank the classes that mattered most to me personally–not what was just popular among students.

Rollover USA-401K Rollover to IRA is a post from: Rollover USA-401K Rollover to IRA Should you build a personal brand or a business brand? I know that’s been a big question buzzing around the last few months, especially in social media. I think it depends on your objective, but in most cases you’re better off building a business brand than a personal brand, and I’ll give you a couple reasons why. If you build a personal brand and something happens to sideline you from your business, everything you’ve worked for could be derailed when someone else needs to take the helm.

And now, part three of my blog series focused on sales and social media. This portion is focused on how we gain trust and get realized as an expert in our field. 3# Being The Expert Let there be no doubt – you can only fake “knowing” something for so long. Often times, sales reps stick to the script, practice their rebuttals and learn their product. Conversations can only be as deep as the level of knowledge in the room. However, if you’ve dedicated yourself and you’ve put in the time, eventually you can be known as an expert.

And Why It’s Not about Your Wonderful Qualities as a Human Being I don’t mean to suggest that your customers don’t care about your fundamental decency, professionalism, and your devotion to your local community. However, each of those qualities is necessary, but not sufficient for someone to do business with you. Ultimately, your personal brand reflects your unique ability to help your ideal customers succeed.

In a recent radio interview on KQTH 104.1, I had a spirited conversation with Dr. Zara Larsen, a leading change management consultant. Our discussion spanned a number of topics: the principles of effective branding in the corporate sector, the role of employees as brand ambassadors in a 24/7/365 web-enabled world and the concept of personal branding as a strategy for career advancement and individual fulfillment.

Ah, the little things in life. Here’s a trick for people who often post links to Facebook. If you’re one of them, you know that Facebook recently introduced captcha protection, which (sometimes) pops up, requiring you to type two words into a form before your link is posted. If you’re a good scout, you’ve simply been typing in exactly what the captcha says, and often we’re talking about two long words with numbers and other charaters, such as colons and dashes.

September 3, 2009 Yes here we go again…more on Twitter! I am getting more and more of you asking me how to get going…how to get started?I must admit that while it can be somewhat daunting in the beginning, it certainly is fun to be active and participating in the game.If you’re not in the game of Social Media then it is impossible to know how enjoyable it is to be connecting with so many new people, learn so much and better yet..be actively playing in this new world…yes it is bigger than the sandbox and yes you can play in the global markets!

*Update: Commenters pointed out that the methods explained below ruin the reCAPTCHA project, which Facebook uses for its bot detection, and it might be true, so let me clarify. I’m aware that reCAPTCHA serves a good cause – digitalization of books and newspapers, and I’m sorry if I’ve encouraged anyone to cheat the system, as that was not my intention. However, as you can see in the example below, most “special” characters that appear in reCAPTCHA, such as those with umlauts, apostrophes or ampersands, are quite cumbersome to read properly, even for a human.

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.Powered by WP Greet BoxThere are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report). Becoming an expert is crucial to make money blogging. If you have ever taken an affiliate marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies.

What Makes the Ugg Bailey Button Boot Such a Hit?

It's simple. UGG Australia has morphed together their two most popular styles. They started with the ever-popular UGG Classic Short Boot and then added a Wooden Button from their best-selling, as seen on Oprah, UGG Cardy. Put them together and you get this year's must have UGG style – the Ugg Bailey Button.

The Bailey Button is available in 5 colors including Black, Chestnut, Grey, Chocolate and Sand. California-based retailer Footwear etc. has received all 5 colors into stock at their 7 stores and is already seeing positive results. Footwear etc. Manager, Andrew Monarch, said "It is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. We highly recommend that our customers secure their boots early before it's too late."

Right, it is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. So we highly recommend that our customers secure their pair early before it's too late.

The UGG Bailey Button is also very versatile as it can be worn up or folded down for a different look. They feature a soft foam insole and a genuine sheepskin lining. If you haven't experience the comfort of authentic UGG Australia Boots yet then your feet have been missing out. Give the new UGG Bailey Button a try today or if it's not for you, there's always the popular classic styles including UGG Classic Short, UGG Classic Tall and UGG Classic Cardy.

But remember… don't wait to get your UGGs. Every year people procrastinate and then they can't find the UGG Boots they want. UGG Sale–Shop early for the best selection. The closer to Christmas you get the harder it gets to find UGGs.
