Practically the only thing guaranteed that social media will kill is your free time. Maybe it will kill your real-world social life too, but that’s only if you choose to have an intimate relationship with your computer, at the pure neglect of the world outdoors. While it’s popular and tempting to say that social media is poised to eliminate core business elements, such as marketing, public relations, or advertising, the truth is that the latest Web tools are simply infrastructure, to be used well.

Taking a page from the P. Diddy playbook, Ben Stiller is combining his comedic talents with his public relations savvy and making a run at social media marketing powerhouse networks like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. With the kind of star power that lends itself to gaining lots of followers/ fans/ friends or viewers on any of those networks, he is having considerable success.

image by runningkate I’ve lost things lately: my favorite plastic sports bottle, a souvenir of my snow camping experience my sterling silver hoop earrings my mind Also, I’ve lacked focus: Literally. I need bifocals. I’m pretending I don’t. The faking it isn’t working anymore and it’s making me look feeble. I hope that explains all the typos in my comments around the blogosphere. I hope that explains all the pasta on the tablecloth at lunch the other day. I’m job hunting outside my field of work.

How many times have you answered the phone and some telemarketer spends the first 30 seconds not taking a breath or allowing you to get a word in edgewise? Chances are, more often than not.Experts say that we, the business professionals of the world, have a total of four–count ‘em–four seconds to entice someone into doing business with you or buying whatever product you happen to be hawking.Did you get that? You have to say something in the first four seconds of your conversation which will make someone decide if they are going to work with you.

These days the career advice I hear most often is “go online and join a social network if you want to find a job”. While it is true that many people are finding jobs online through sites like LinkedIn , Facebook and the ACS network , it’s also true that just starting an account is not going to cause employers to beat down your door. To make the most of networking sites such as these, you must make them an integral part of your professional life, as well as a great online advertisement for YOU.

I’m rebooting and changing direction a little bit, and will begin that by paying some more attention to this blog. I’ve had a bit of a redesign and made some things work that were broken – my DJ Mixes page is now completely working, with links to all of my recent mixes now available. I’m planning to focus my attention a little bit more towards my work – I recently went on a course delivered by Nicholas Bate on Personal Excellence, and he spoke about creating a personal brand, and being very deliberate about the processes you follow as you ‘put yourself out there’.

Hello Everyone, Blogging has been great platform for so many people to become a huge success. Take me for example, because of my Retireat21 blog I was offered to host a hit new MTV show in LA just because they liked how I came across on my blog. Blogging isn’t just about making money online, for some people it could be because they want to be a best selling author but can’t get a foot in the door right now and for others it started just so they could pay there grocery bills.

The employment of a celebrity by a brand is nothing new. We’ve all seen how some brands use celebrities in their adverts, campaigns, promotions or sponsorship etc. as a means to endorse their brand. The Nike and Tiger Woods endorsement is arguably one of the world’s famous brand/celebrity collaboration. And my take is that the brand (company) gets better benefits than the celebrity, in terms of brand associations.

We were pleased to have John Tantillo , The Marketing Doctor , as our guest on The Bigg Success Show today. John has over twenty years experience in the marketing industry and is the President of Marketing Department of America . He’s also a behavioral research psychologist who you may have seen on Fox News , Fox Business News or heard on a radio station somewhere around the country. Let’s get to the conversation … ___ ___ ___ John, your mantra is “Go Brand Yourself” using the principles that companies use to create your personal brand.

By J.T. O’Donnell Two weeks ago, a fellow blogger e-mailed me about the launch of his company’s new social media platform for Gen Y workers . He said, “It’s like LinkedIn for young people.” While I didn’t say it directly to him, my first reaction was: What’s the point? I couldn’t see how connecting a bunch of young folks who lacked work history or professional connections was valuable. The power of using LinkedIn is to ‘link’ with a person who can help your career – which usually involves someone with more experience and connections than you.

What Makes the Ugg Bailey Button Boot Such a Hit?

It's simple. UGG Australia has morphed together their two most popular styles. They started with the ever-popular UGG Classic Short Boot and then added a Wooden Button from their best-selling, as seen on Oprah, UGG Cardy. Put them together and you get this year's must have UGG style – the Ugg Bailey Button.
The Bailey Button is available in 5 colors including Black, Chestnut, Grey, Chocolate and Sand. California-based retailer Footwear etc. has received all 5 colors into stock at their 7 stores and is already seeing positive results. Footwear etc. Manager, Andrew Monarch, said "It is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. We highly recommend that our customers secure their boots early before it's too late."
Right, it is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. So we highly recommend that our customers secure their pair early before it's too late.
The UGG Bailey Button is also very versatile as it can be worn up or folded down for a different look. They feature a soft foam insole and a genuine sheepskin lining. If you haven't experience the comfort of authentic UGG Australia Boots yet then your feet have been missing out. Give the new UGG Bailey Button a try today or if it's not for you, there's always the popular classic styles including UGG Classic Short, UGG Classic Tall and UGG Classic Cardy.
But remember… don't wait to get your UGGs. Every year people procrastinate and then they can't find the UGG Boots they want. UGG Sale–Shop early for the best selection. The closer to Christmas you get the harder it gets to find UGGs.
