by Stephen Geraghty-Harrison – Social Media Nerd Like many other HR professionals I found myself unemployed during one of the worst economic crises this country has ever seen. It has been a rough eight months of uncertainty – leads that didn’t pan out and hopes crushed – but I kept my head up and moved forward. Luckily I recently landed mysef a new job!

Continuing with my series on Primal Branding by Patrick Hanlon . I’ve discussed in previous posts the creation story, the creed, the icon, and the rituals. This week, I’ll be focusing on the pagans, or nonbelievers . This is perhaps the easiest code to understand as a marketer. You always go to the market with a single minded message, and this is what this code element is all about. You need to know what you are. More importantly, you need to know what you are NOT.

So says Bill Hobbs : The best use of social networking – whether it be a blog, or Facebook or Twitter or YouTube or other tools – to promote your personal brand, business or campaign is not based in narcissism, but in reaching out to others, to share your expertise with them and establish a conversation.

This week’s book review at Small Business Trends was on “ Creating Competitive Advantage: Give Customers a Reason to Choose You Over Your Competitors Creating Competitive Advantage” by Jaynie L. Smith. In my on-going efforts to practice what I’ve been preaching about content repurposing, I created my first short video book review to match the article and originally posted it on DIY Marketers . In this article, I’d like to do a little summary of how to create your own competitive advantage .

by Jack Ryan Twitter seems to be growing in popularity every day. Most people have heard of twitter either on the news or sports channel or even in print media. It’s quite easy to build a large network of followers on twitter in a very short period of time that can include friends, associates, business partners, or even people that might be potential customers to your brick-and-mortar business. Twitter seems to be taking the social networking section of the Internet by storm.

I just ordered Hugh MacLeod’s Ignore Evereybody: And 39 Other Keys To Creativity – simply because of the farcical treatment the folks over at Brand Autopsy gave it. I LOVE IT! More-so, I love the segment that they chose to feature. The Sex and Cash Theory – something I think anyone that considers themselves as “Creative” can identify with (in any timbre) . (feed readers and Facebookers, click here to see the video – it’s a RIOT !) After you stop laughing, think

Not only can a poor résumé cost you a job interview, it might also cost you 2%-25% of your value on a job offer; which for some of you could equate to $2k-$30k in the first year alone. My offer still stands; send your résumé to review@firstimpressionsresumes.biz and receive a Free Résumé Critique to see if your résumé is marketing you at a level that is below, equal to, or above your salary expectations – and learn how to improve it to enhance your financial worth and marketability.

I have recently been re-reading Philip Farkas & His Horn: A Happy and Worthwhile Life by Nancy Jordan Fako . One thing in this book I found especially interesting in trying to understand Farkas the man better was his background in advertising and marketing, a field which he left orchestral playing to work in full time in 1947. His orchestral career was impressive, playing Principal Horn in Kansas City, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Cleveland again, and finally Chicago again.

Crafting your resume is undoubtedly a challenge for most professionals, as there is so much to consider prior to sending it out to employers and recruiters. I have asked resume writers and career-search experts from across the web for what they consider to be the top tips for writing and developing your resume in today’s job market. While I could not include every tip from all of the experts, I have selected and compiled the best and most unique ones in this list to share with you today.

We dare to put our marketing MBA hat on for this post, so kindly bear with us… Ok, everyone knows we are in an economic downturn, right? But there’s one brand or two that is off the charts with popularity right now, and along with it, an amazing economic story. The story is scary, there’s love, hate, tradition and modernism all rolled into it. Have you guessed yet what it is…? Let me give you another clue: it caused a monster turnout and traffic jam at Comic-con earlier this year.

When you have the wrong perspective on things, life becomes difficult for “no apparent reason.” For instance, take this image and ask yourself, are the lines straight or curved? Curved, right? Wrong. It’s an optical illusion. I didn’t believe it, either, until I recreated the image in Excel.

<h2 align=”center”>What Makes the Ugg Bailey Button Boot Such a Hit?</h2>
It's simple. UGG Australia has morphed together their two most popular styles. They started with the ever-popular UGG Classic Short Boot and then added a Wooden Button from their best-selling, as seen on Oprah, UGG Cardy. Put them together and you get this year's must have UGG style – the Ugg Bailey Button.
The Bailey Button is available in 5 colors including Black, Chestnut, Grey, Chocolate and Sand. California-based retailer Footwear etc. has received all 5 colors into stock at their 7 stores and is already seeing positive results. Footwear etc. Manager, Andrew Monarch, said "It is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. We highly recommend that our customers secure their boots early before it's too late."
Right, it is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. So we highly recommend that our customers secure their pair early before it's too late.
The UGG Bailey Button is also very versatile as it can be worn up or folded down for a different look. They feature a soft foam insole and a genuine sheepskin lining. If you haven't experience the comfort of authentic UGG Australia Boots yet then your feet have been missing out. Give the new UGG Bailey Button a try today or if it's not for you, there's always the popular classic styles including UGG Classic Short, UGG Classic Tall and UGG Classic Cardy.
But remember… don't wait to get your UGGs. Every year people procrastinate and then they can't find the UGG Boots they want. UGG Sale–Shop early for the best selection. The closer to Christmas you get the harder it gets to find UGGs.
