by Jack Ryan Twitter has taken over the social networking portion of the Internet in a very short time. It is now the number three social networking site on the Internet behind Facebook and MySpace. Twitter may not be number one but it is growing fast and it won’t take long for it to get to the top spot position. When you use twitter you create your own personal brand and you can possibly dominate the niche you are focusing on. Let me explain. You have 140 characters to get your message across.

You have to be absolutely determined, otherwise you might just as well write poetry. (Sir Terence Conran, quoted in The Creative Economy by John Howkins) Terence Conran offers excellent advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, but he obviously has a thing or two to learn about poetry. He seems to think writing poetry is easy compared to building a business, and that most poetry is written by shy, retiring wallflowers with little or no ambition. It sounds as though he hasn’t met many successful poets.

1 You don’t ever read anything in your field outside work If you’re a professional in a career you love you will, without really trying, pick up books, magazines, or follow blogs in your field. If you’re say, a project manager in a software company and you find yourself reading about alternative energy solutions and green economies all the time you’re in the wrong job. True story – a friend was managing a group of techies and not liking it much, after much soul searching he figured out he was more interested in the environment.

The other day a work colleague asked me for some feedback on their personal value proposition or personal brand. It struck me as a really good idea. Just like a corporate brand it is what others say and how they perceive you that amounts to your personal brand, not what you think necessarily. However, knowing yourself is very important when establishing your personal brand. Your authentic self should shine through and this allows you to be the best you can be.

Social media sites like Facebook , Myspace and LinkedIn have become important parts of our lives, so much so that many may not have considered the impact your profile can have and how it can affect you personally. It was once thought that these sites were merely time-killers for folks who had little else to do and wanted to join together online to gossip and play games, but they are certainly far more than that. Consider this, your online behavior and viewpoints about the different facets of life are no longer as private as some may think.

That’s right, more UK media people share their Twitter tips. This time: Lee Hall , digital editor of the Sunderland Echo . Do you recall your first tweet? I don’t. As with most first time encounters I messed it up a bit, wasn’t too sure whether I was any good at it and came back to it when my confidence returned. Seriously, though – initially I found there was too much dead air as take up was low. I’m guessing it was my trademark social media bow – something like.
The Reread Reviews — Ultimate Humangoodcomics.comicbookresources.com

Yes, so soon after the monstrous blogathon, I have returned to write a reread review. Well, actually, I wrote this on Friday and scheduled it for today, but, still, that’s a lot of comics-related writing in a short period of time. This week, I continue my journey through the Ultimate universe with my absolute favourite Ultimate title. Spoilers, of course. Ultimate Human by Warren Ellis and Cary Nord is my favourite Ultimate title for a number of reasons.

by Carl Ziebarth There are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report). Becoming an expert is crucial to make money blogging. If you have ever taken an affiliate marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies.

If you aren’t living under a rock, you have been hearing lots of buzz about “branding“. So, what exactly IS branding and how will it help my executive resume? What will it do for me?With the tight job market today, and thousands of qualified senior level candidates, employers can afford to be picky. How do you get to the top of the pile? How are you going to stand out? Your brand. Your personal brand is the promise of the value you bring to the company. Your unique-ness. What makes you, you.Think “Heinz”.

Copyright (c) 2009 Refined Images, LLC In the hard-hit finance industry, building trust with clients unnerved by the shaky economy is critical. Creating a trustworthy image begins with the most visible element of your personal brand — your wardrobe. Expectations for the finance industry are more conservative than other business sectors, since would-be clients subconsciously assume the style of their financial advisor’s dress reflects his or her values and decision-making expertise.

Right on schedule, Den of Geek has caught up with “Clerks II” this week, as part of their ongoing Kevin Smith retrospective. Once again, they’ve got a nice review followed by some commentary afterwards, which we’ve got a sampling of here: “…O’Halloran and Anderson pick up the characters of Dante and Randal so easily it is like they are putting back on their favourite old shirts, making the audience feel as if two old friends have just popped in to let you know what they have been up to recently.

Social media is not a fad – it’s here to stay. It’s changing the way we communicate, connect, access and share information. It’s affecting the way we look for jobs, build our networks, manage our careers and run and market our businesses. Hence it’s an important area for both the expat professional and entrepreneur to learn more about and explore how it can help them reach their goals. I’ve been using social media for several years now and have experienced the professional and business benefits first hand.

What Makes the Ugg Bailey Button Boot Such a Hit?

It's simple. UGG Australia has morphed together their two most popular styles. They started with the ever-popular UGG Classic Short Boot and then added a Wooden Button from their best-selling, as seen on Oprah, UGG Cardy. Put them together and you get this year's must have UGG style – the Ugg Bailey Button.

The Bailey Button is available in 5 colors including Black, Chestnut, Grey, Chocolate and Sand. California-based retailer Footwear etc. has received all 5 colors into stock at their 7 stores and is already seeing positive results. Footwear etc. Manager, Andrew Monarch, said "It is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. We highly recommend that our customers secure their boots early before it's too late."

Right, it is not a matter of IF the Bailey sells out, but how quickly. So we highly recommend that our customers secure their pair early before it's too late.

The UGG Bailey Button is also very versatile as it can be worn up or folded down for a different look. They feature a soft foam insole and a genuine sheepskin lining. If you haven't experience the comfort of authentic UGG Australia Boots yet then your feet have been missing out. Give the new UGG Bailey Button a try today or if it's not for you, there's always the popular classic styles including UGG Classic Short, UGG Classic Tall and UGG Classic Cardy.

But remember… don't wait to get your UGGs. Every year people procrastinate and then they can't find the UGG Boots they want. UGG Sale–Shop early for the best selection. The closer to Christmas you get the harder it gets to find UGGs.
