Pls. Tweet For Me. Thx! - refinancing.ro
07/11/2009
Recently, my wife and I were discussing over dinner the time-intensiveness of using social networks effectively (I know, I know). I suspect part of Twitter’s explosion is due to it serving some people’s purposes time-efficiently. For example, following tweets can be extremely instructive and quick, though if you tried to click on all the links you’d have no time left. And people who want to extend their personal brand but don’t have time to maintain a full-fledged blog can generally find time for 140 characters.

Positioning Marketing According to Wikipedia, positioning marketing is the process by which marketers try to create and image or identity in the minds of their target market for its product, brand, or organization. It is the ‘relative competitive comparison’ their product occupies in a given market as perceived by the target market. In this article, I would also like to cover image branding as part of positioning marketing especially in network marketing today.

If you’re a public relations professional, you’re very familiar with Stuart Elliot.  As the long time marketing reporter for the New York Times, he’s practically an institution onto himself.  I recently had the chance to ask him five questions — four related to his vocation, and one related to his avocation. 1.

If you do a Bing or Google search on “resume hosting services,” quite a few pop up, including Hotscripts , ResumeHype , MyResume, MyResumeHere , ResumeHostin g and so on.  But, over the past few months, I’ve had a few clients tell me that they’ve put their resumes up on VisualCV .  So, I decided to sign up and do a half-assed, mock one for myself and review it for you. I confess that as much as I embrace social media and technology I’m always a bit cynical when it comes to marrying new technologies with resume writing.  But, with a few minor exceptions, I think this VisualCV thing is pretty interesting.

Written by Desireé Buitenbos Drink wine, feel sexy. That seems to be the idea behind a new Ontario wine that hit store shelves at the end of May; it’s called Strut . According to the company’s website, the look and lingering taste of the wine is designed to appeal to 23 something females who thrive on fun, fashion, and the former TV hit, “Sex and the City.” Strut claims to endorse self-assurance and style.

If you are a business person and you are online, you have surely heard of LinkedIn. In fact, with 19 million users around the globe, the odds are good that you have already created your own LinkedIn account. What exactly is LinkedIn? It is an online network of people all over the world. While technically, it is one of many social networking sites on the web, LinkedIn is probably the best know and most widely used business networking site.

One of the things I like about Twitter is the comedy jam sessions where someone just start posting to a topic and soon everyone is joining in, both political pundits and comedy professionals. Someone yesterday wrote something with the tag #1stdraftmovielines and I had a lot of fun with that one. Here’s what I cam up with: FIRST DRAFT MOVIE LINES “Go ahead, do something so I can legally shoot you.” “I know what you’re thinking, punk: What exactly is that guy compensating for with a handgun that large?” “May the force be with you, and, if not, make sure to get a midichlorian supplement.” “This is me awkwardly staring at you, kid.” “The spoon you think you see there?
The Portable Personal Brand - davidscohen.wordpress.com

Is your personal brand portable? Is your message easy for others to carry and spread? Sometimes we get too caught up in our own message – we labor over the words, trying to get the nuance just so; making sure we get the essential essence of our value proposition; delving into details; artistically articulating skills, services and strengths… only to find out that everybody else refers to you as “the guy with the funny hat”, or “you know, that lady who sells real estate”, or “the dude with the

I’ve spent the last week absorbing all the information about Michael Jackson and reading several blog posts about the Michael Jackson “brand.” I’ve been pondering what Michael Jackson can teach us about our careers and personal branding and I’ve come to a conclusion that is quite different than those of some of my peers. Many are commenting about the power of Michael’s talent and how his talent drove his brand and outweighed his personal difficulties.

Brand abuse is increasing , but more important than the sheer volume is the increased sophistication and the opportunistic nature of brandjackers, who are quick to take advantage of current events and popular concerns. Photo credit: Tyler Olson As a matter of fact , so-called ” brandjackers ” continue to exploit the confusion over the financial markets that began in the last quarter of 2008 to prey upon vulnerable consumers, and such online scams continue to be quite sophisticated and difficult to detect for the unsuspecting Internet user.
Lessons from a bank robber - williejackson.com

Do you have the conviction of a bank robber? Why do you do what you do? William “Slick Willie” Sutton wasn’t your typical criminal. He was an expert bank robber, escape artist, safe cracker, master impersonator, and educated mentor. Sutton is rumored never to have used a loaded weapon when robbing a bank, nor robbing one when women or babies were crying. Using disguises such as a policeman, window washer, maintenance man, bank guard, mover, Western Union messenger, and striped-pants diplomat, Sutton leveraged social engineering extensively in his heists.

In the last few months, thanks mainly to my association with the UW Foster School of Business, I’ve been able to meet with a number of top flight students and recent graduates hunting for jobs in Advertising or Marketing. I keep seeing a common theme.  There aren’t that many marketing “jobs” out there, many firms who have these jobs are cutting people, and many people who have these jobs are reinventing themselves to keep employment.  This does not lead to a simple path to employment.
My Own Personal Brand of Heroin - burns-familyblog.blogspot.com

I’ve gotten a few snarky comments from Mateo about all the RPatz on our “Family Blog.” I’ve tried to explain to him that it’s not really Robert I’m crushing on…but more a character in a book. He needn’t be threatened. That didn’t much help however, considering the character is an ice cold, blood sucking vampire! Mateo just doesn’t get it. SO….today being Our 10 th Anniversary , I thought I’d do a post on: The Top 10 Reasons my Husband is Hotter than RPatz #10 - His smile is off the hook .
